Arnold Clark is one of the UKs most loved and cherished used cars dealers, if you are searching for used-cars-for-sale online then there are over 17,000+ used cars listed exclusively on the Arnold Clark website, the sales team at Arnold Clark have been working hard all winter on preparing their stock for winter used and have made sure that particular models and makes of used cars have been stored and displayed correctly during this harsh winter that the UK is witnessing right now. Ensuring that not only the used car stock for sale from Arnold Clark is protected but, also ensuring that any potential buyers can come and view their new car in the warmth and tranquillity of a pressure free sales environment.

Perhaps you are searching for a particular make or model of used car for sale in the UK? And if so, you might be checking out a few cars you have seen and then intend to make your decision based on what you have seen. This is a good idea as you can get an overview of the condition and durability of your desired used car, for example, you might find a 2004 Honda Civic with 120,000 miles on the clock for a bargain basement price in a local car dealers, you may also find in the local paper that there is an 2006 Civic for sale with just 21,000 miles on the clock, going to see both cars and understanding what a later model with less miles on the clock might look like, perhaps that Civic has been used by an elderly couple to go shopping once a week, or perhaps it was a sales rep car and did those miles on the motorways of Britain and slogged around city street and back roads to find their clients houses, if so the second example might seem from an advert that it is not going to be a very well looked after car, however different owners treat used cars extremely differently, some love and cherish their vehicles and some use their vehicles day in day out as work horses, however it is worth noting at this point that even well used cars which have had a commercial background and former owner can make very good second hand cars, after all, the typical diesel Toyota Avensis that has been used as a taxi has never really got cold, and will always have been serviced and at least checked out at regular intervals… making them not too bad a decision as a used car to buy.

Volvoline have been manufacturing car engine oil for centuries now, their ranges of engine oils and motoring lubricants are industry renown. Known to be manufacturers and producers of some of the best organic/ mineral and synthetic engine oils for all kinds of vehicles, from trucks to motorcycles and even 2 stroke engine oil for lawnmowers and twist and go scooters, the Valvoline Brand is a sign of quality, professionalism and sheer engineering achievement, but if you have never used Valvolines car engine oil, then you might not be aware of just how good a product this lubricant is.

With over 3 million miles covered by motorists on the UK public roads each and every day, engine wear and engine degradation caused by a lack of engine oil or even too much engine oil is a factor in which some breakdown companies may cite when investigating road side breakdowns, although it is known in industry circles that having too much engine oil in your car is far worse for your engine than having too little engine oil; for this very reason the people behind Valvoline have gone above and beyond to produce a substantial information and guidance articles and advise for motorists who choose to buy their products from off the shelf, as on the reverse of all lubricants produced by Valvoline you will find key bits of information and also a helpful window in the bottle of Valvoline where marked accordingly is the amount of oil you have left in your container, from this window and measure you can rest assured that you have topped up your engine oil to the correct amount by recalling what is left in your bottle after filling or topping up your engines reservoirs/ sump.

As we mention topping up your engine oil, there are two primary ways in which you can top up your oil without getting your hands too dirty, firstly, after opening your bonnet, on top of a traditional engine (modern engines can often have a plastic cover over the whole engine block) there should be a spinning cap that sits to the top left or top right of your engines main block, this cap can be unscrewed to reveal a little of the engines head, where the valve springs and retainers sit, you can top your engine oil up by simply unscrewing this cap and pouring oil in, beware as the oil you pour in will take a little time to filter through the engines internals and into the sum where you dip stick takes its measurement, alternatively you can top up your car engine oil through the dip stick pipe itself, this method is a little more tricky as the hole in which you pour the new oil is rather small and as such you may end up spilling your engine oil on the floor and damaging the grass or tarmac under here. It is worth noting that whenever you check, change or top up your engine oil, that a) the engine is turned off and b) that you are in a safe place away from fast moving traffic and preferably, on level ground.

If you are the type of person who likes to travel or spends a great deal of time on the road, you want to be a man with a mission when it comes to selecting a roadside assistance program. There are likely going to be a lot of different options for you to consider where this is concerned, but by taking your time to accurately compare the offers and their prices, you will be able to find the best possible deal for your own needs.

Start with the web, for nothing could be easier. Just enter in some search terms and see what the providers are offering you. There are going to be full-coverage plans, and plans that are more like compiled menu items of hazard protections and insurance ideas. The costs and the reach of the coverage will vary, but they will all be set up in the same way so it is easy to look at them side by side to see which one is best for you.

Once you have a roadside assistance plan, you are going to be able to travel a little more boldly – you will have no worries about going across the city or across the country if the spirit moves you in this way. If you are planning a holiday, you will definitely want to have a plan in place – but even a daily commuter can benefit from the extra coverage of a well constructed plan. If you are going to spend time in your car, make sure that you are a man with a mission – a mission for safe travel!

Depending on where you live, driving in the snow can be a grim reality of the winter months. To lessen your chances of have problems on the road this time of year, you could wait until the streets have been cleared before you go out. If you can avoid it, don’t drive in the snow.

Cars that have snow tires will be able to grip the road better giving better control and safer driving. Snow can build up on all your car windows so take time to remove it all, not just one area on the windshield. The more visibility you have, the better. Anytime you drive on snow you know it can be unpredictable and this is more true when there is ice underneath it. Drive slow and defensively and you can avoid car accidents.

You might even consider learning how to skid so you are prepared if it does happen and you will be able to keep calm and stay in control. Winter weather is always tricky to drive in and you should avoid it whenever possible. If you must go out during snowy weather, take your time and keep snow chains in your car at all times.

Everyone knows that one of the most stressful experiences is trying to find and pick out a car that you can afford and matches you the best. Not only is it hard to find one in a reasonable price range sometimes, but also to not succumb to the temptations of the sports cars and those more expensive vehicles that would certainly put a dent in your wallet. The salesroom of a car dealership can be somewhat of a hectic place as clerks continuously coming up to you asking to help while really just trying to get a sale. The best way then would most likely be shopping online to get the right car for you at the right price.

There are also many other factors that go into buying a car that often go unnoticed, especially to the new teenage driver that is just chomping at the bit. These factors could include: payment for gas once having the car, insurance (which for younger kids can be ridiculous), and coverage if your car breaks down along with many others. Buying a car is a huge investment; so do not kid yourself by saying otherwise. Having insurance, a car breakdown cover plan, and just an overall understanding of what getting a car really means are all factors that are necessary and crucial to be aware of before the car-buying process.

So next time you are thinking of buying that new sports car that you saw in the window, remember what all that would mean you are getting yourself into. Do not leave your car and money in shambles just because you were careless and did not prepare for this big of an investment.

Trying to safely navigate your vehicle through snow and ice can sometimes be a difficult feat to accomplish. If at all possible, try to avoid driving in snow and ice. If, on the other hand, you have no other option but to drive on snow or ice covered roads, consider following these important safety tips.

Allow yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. Rushing to and fro on snow or ice covered roads can be very dangerous and not to mention life-threatening. If you have to go to work, for example, at 8:00 a.m. and it usually takes you 30 minutes to get to work on a regular day, when the roads are clear, try to leave for work an hour in advance instead. Allowing yourself an ample amount of time to reach your destination when the roads are covered in snow or ice is crucial if you want to reach your destination safely.

When you have to use your brakes while driving on snow and ice packed roads, accustom yourself to pressing them very, very gently. Pressing your brakes gently will help you avoid skidding all over the road.

Avoid using cruise control on icy roads. If you hit a rough patch of snow or ice while driving, cruise control can hinder your ability to maintain control of your vehicle. Also, you may want to avoid using overdrive on icy roads as well since it can produce the same effects as cruise control.

Travel over bridges and overpasses very, very carefully. Bridges and overpasses are popular at freezing or icing over more quickly than heavy-trafficked roads. Also, you may want to use extra caution when driving over roads that don’t see a lot of traffic, as they too are popular at freezing or icing over very quickly.

Avoid passing other vehicles, especially snow plows. If you’re one of those people that pass vehicles left and right, stop. Passing vehicles on snow and ice covered roads should be avoided at all costs if you care about your safety or overall well-being.

Make sure your windows and lights are kept immaculately clean. If you can’t see out of your vehicle or in front of your vehicle, what makes you think your driving experience is going to be safe? Make it a habit to clean your windows and lights of snow, ice or debris before you hit the roads.

Last but not least, make sure you have proper car insurance or coverage in case you happen to have an accident while navigating snow and ice covered roads. Since different insurance companies provide different coverage incentives or programs, don’t be afraid to be very selective when deciding on an insurance provider.

Are you tired of the noise of the snow chains on your tires? Tired of vibrating down the road each winter? Tired of putting the chains on wrong and needing to reapply them? Tired of looking in your garage and seeing the chains waiting for you each year? If you answered yes but don’t want the expensive of snow tires we have a solution for you. The solution to your problems is snow socks.

Snow socks? Snow socks are a specially designed fabric textile that is meant to keep your car on the road. Snow socks will move away water from your tire and the ground. This action allows your tires to grip the road and give you the traction you need to stay safe in the winter.

Besides the excellent gripping power that snow socks provide you will be amazed by their ease of use. You can easily place them on your tires without worrying about installing them the wrong way. You never have to worry again about putting your chains on the wrong way.

Snow socks work exceptionally well when you are in areas that have wet snow. If you are in an area where you have a mixture of snow and rain you will be amazed by the effectiveness of snow socks.

It’s not uncommon for people to have their dogs with them when driving in their car. It is, unfortunately, common for people not to know the law and the safety precautions to take when transporting your dog in the car. You may say that the percentage of car accidents caused because a dog is inside the vehicle is very low, especially when compared to the great killers on the road like speeding, reckless driving and drunk driving, but if we could avoid just one accident, that would be good enough for us.

Dogs don’t have the best relationship with cars. They see them as big, noisy, smelly and moving too fast for their liking – virtually all the signs of something that poses a danger to the dog and the dog’s family. That’s why you see so many dogs frantically barking and sometimes chasing cars. When in the car, it’s natural that the dog that’s not used to being in there gets scared and stressed. And although it’s natural, it doesn’t make it any safer. Dogs should be separated from the driver by means of dog guards, a seatbelt addition to the dog’s leash or by being crated when in the car.

Dunlop have launched a new TV magazine that will feature all the very latest news in motorsport. Inside Racing offers fascinating insights from a range of motorsports race series including in-depth information, exclusive material plus celebrity and lifestyle features.

Unlike other racing programs Inside Racing benefits from the Dunlop name in motorsport, which means the show’s producers have an incredible amount of access to the world’s fastest tracks as well as exclusive interviews with the most skillful drivers on the planet. Viewers can expect to see teams and drivers of race series such as DTM, ALMS and MotoGP.

The show is produced fortnightly and also encourages viewer participation, which can be seen on the program’s YouTube presence: http://www.youtube.com/dunlopinsideracing. Also, for more fans of more extreme motoring, the Dunlop Challenges channel features stunt driving such as Loop the Loop, J-turns and jumps: http://www.youtube.com/DunlopChallenges.

One of the latest pieces of footage incredibly demonstrates the manoeuvrability of 3 cars when kitted out with the SP Street Response tyres. In the video, the stunt coordinator even reveals they had to slightly over-inflate the tyres as the grip was too good to perform the skids required for the stunt!

With plenty of insight into competition racing as well as stunts and other features, Inside Racing looks to be a great source for petrolheads and motorsports fans alike.

If you follow these simple tips, your road-trip will be a smooth ride.

First and foremost – remember cars run on gas, so always make sure you start your journey with plenty of it. Making sure you have a full tank before you leave is one of the things people forget the most. And if you’re travelling to a remote location, make sure you take some extra gas with you.

Check the engine. It’s the heart of your car, so make sure it’s in good condition. Have water with you in case it overheats.

Check your tires. Make sure they are in good enough shape to handle a long trip. Screw the tires well and check your extra tire to make sure it is in good condition also. And don’t forget to take all you need to change a tire: wrench and jack.

Finally, check your brakes, make sure they are working properly and that they have enough fluid. It’s also a good idea, especially if you’re planning on doing a lot of night-driving, to check all lights in your car: break lights, turn signal lights and especially headlights.

Last but not least, drive safely, and enjoy yourself.
